Shanae Hollander-Allan, Canaan Dairy

Gateway has been one of the very best experiences I have had through school. I have learned so many new skills both within the class and out in my work placement. I want to go into the dairy industry as my career, so through Gateway,  every Friday I was placed to work on a local dairy farm out by the airport. From working on the farm I have learned the basic ins and outs of being a dairy worker. While it is cold getting up on the early mornings, watching the cows wander out of the shed and down the lane with a sunrise backdrop makes it a satisfying job. I have been lucky enough to have been offered a full-time job living and working on the dairy farm where I was placed and I am eager to start living my dream and continue my learning.
