Cross Country

Sophie Wilson, Sports Prefect and Tessa Buschl, Deputy Sports Prefect —

After a disappointing run of events such as the postponement of the initial cross country, and the failure to show the promotional video on Tuesday, the much anticipated Otago Girls cross country 2019 finally took place on Thursday.

Thankfully fate would mean we had beautiful running weather. On the course, we saw lots of smiles and laughs from girls either running or walking. The successful day started at Kettle Park and after 2.4km for juniors and 2.7km for seniors, everyone finished their race at Tahuna Park. We witnessed great positivity and participation amongst everyone competing in cross country. There were some incredibly fast competitive runners and many enthusiastic casual runners, joggers or walkers. Official individual and house will be announced next week. A big thank you to all the teachers who helped out with marshalling and set up and to all the girls competing, for your great positivity.
