Holley Dodd, Grace Twaddle, Danielle Milne and Maggie Hepburn have recently competed in the Rocket Foods New Zealand Rowing Championships. This is the National Clubs Championship event and the girls were competing as members of our affiliated Otago Rowing Club.

After a two-day delay due to the Alert Level 2 status, the championships commenced on Thursday 20 February with a condensed three-day schedule. Conditions were perfect for rowing and it was great to be able to compete as part of the Otago Rowing Club, and compete as part of a composite crew with Dunstan Arm Rowing Club.

Some fantastic results were achieved:

Intermediate Single Sculls: 3rd – Grace Twaddle – Bronze medal

Novice Coxed Quad – A final: 6th – Danielle Milne & Maggie Hepburn (with Ruby Anderson, Annabel Kelly & Beth Sunderland(cox))

Novice Double Sculls – A final: 7th – Maggie Hepburn & Annabel Kelly

Intermediate Coxed Quad: 3rd – Grace Twaddle, Holley Dodd (with Marzella Debeer, Mackenzie Bryant & Billy Grant (cox) from Dunstan Arms Rowing Club) – Bronze medal
