Kia ora koutou

Last evening we held our inaugural Māori Prizegiving, celebrating the achievements of our Māori leavers and emerging junior leaders. A highlight was visiting our new Māori medicinal garden in our school grounds - a student-led project initiated by Māori Prefect, Jade Wilson. Our commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi is alive and well and nowhere more evident than in the thriving community of Māori students and whānau, and the generous support of our staff, here at Otago Girls’ High School.

Our building projects, NCEA examinations, Year 10 Camp preparation and Year 8 Orientation continue apace and we look forward to Leavers’ Assembly and Prizegiving on 2nd December. Please make sure that all students are at school in full uniform ready for Prizereading to start at 8.45am that day. All students must be in full Winter School uniform at the Regent Theatre at 5.30pm that day. We are delighted to have ex-student Mai Chen joining us for that day, along with her mother, Jean Chen.

Thank you for your continued support during this busy and exciting time. Your guidance, patience and financial support of your child’s education is an investment in their future to come.
