Over Anniversary Weekend, Jana Elvy of Year 12 participated in the South Island, District 9980 Rotary Four-Way-Test Speech competition. To get to this point, she had to compete in two other heats. Jana traveled to Waimate on Sunday to present a spoken-word speech on her love of literature and the power of words to bring people together. The Dunedin Central Rotary club sponsored Jana and we are closely affiliated with these wonderful people who support our community. Jana gained a second-equal placing and her prize was $500. We are delighted for you, Jana, you did an excellent job and we also thank Dunedin Central for looking after you so well.
