Sports Awards Evening Success

Mr C Richards, Mr D Trickey and MS C Hokianga —

Last night, we celebrated a very successful Sports Awards evening, where our school’s talented athletes were recognized for their hard work and dedication across a variety of sporting codes. It was fantastic to see so many sports represented, showcasing the diverse talents of our students.

A special thank you to our presenters: Sue Porter, Vicki Millar, and Hannah Gilham, as well as our sports prefects Lisa Lokman and Lily Moors for their contributions throughout the night.

We were also thrilled to welcome back ex-girl Kiana Pelasio as our guest speaker. Kiana shared her inspiring journey of resilience—after facing the disappointment of not being selected as a training partner for one team, she picked herself up and was soon offered a contract with the Central Pulse. Since then, she has never looked back! It was wonderful to have Kiana back in school, sharing her story of perseverance and determination.

Congratulations to all students who received recognition! A highlight of the evening was Lisa Lokman’s heartfelt speech, in which she spoke about how participating in sports has widened her social circle, boosted her confidence, and positively impacted her mental well-being. She thanked the teachers, both inside and outside of sport, for their ongoing support and acknowledged her fellow prefect Lily Moors, reflecting on the personal growth they’ve both experienced in their leadership roles.

Well done to everyone involved, and thank you for making the evening a great success!
