My name is Ella Rooney and I am Head Girl for 2018.

This year I am taking English, Calculus, Physics, Biology and Chemistry. In Tertiary Education, I hope to study Engineering at Canterbury. However, as of yet, I am still undecided which area of Engineering to pursue. Academia is very important to me, and takes priority over everything else. I believe that an education, whether that be going towards a degree or trade, is the most important tool any one person can possess.

However, in saying that, extra curricular activities are an important part of my life. Sporting wise I am apart of the school hockey and volleyball team, and have been since year nine. Through these sports I have found both incredible friends, and a way to extinguish stresses. In terms of the arts, I play piano and enjoy film making as well as photography. I try to involve myself in volunteering when possible, usually in voluntary coaching for my intermediate and within OGHS itself.

The amazing thing with my year group is the mass amount of talent possessed by my peers. Therefore I am aware that I am extremely blessed to have been picked to be a prefect from amongst a year group of excellerants.

I take extreme pride in being an OG’s girl, and aim to be as good of a role model and figure as possible. I hope to be an approachable and positive leader, and am looking forward to working with both my year group and perfect team to make this year an exciting one.
