Tackling Anxiety & Building Resilience

Mrs K Taylor, School Counsellor —

Free Parent Seminar Thurs 12 August 7pm
Venue: OGHS Visual Performings Arts Theatre

Performance anxiety and managing the pressures of navigating our increasingly complex world creates genuine anxiety issues for our students. It frequently affects their ability to function well and often impacts on their relationships within the family home.

Highly qualified Neuropsychotherapist and counselling expert Marcelle Nader-Turner will present practical tools to work with Anxiety regulation and will highlight ways to support our teenagers to thrive and manage ourselves as parents. Marcelle has developed a parent digital support programme targeted at anxiety and is currently a doctoratal candidate specialising in issues specifically related to adolescents. She will be supported by Otago Girls' High School Counsellor/Kaiwhiriwhiri Kirsten Taylor who will present statistics on the number of our students accessing counselling who experience anxiety illuminating what our young people are saying about themselves.
