Japanese Virtual Exchange Article

Allison Han —

On the Friday of week 8, some of the year 10 Japanese class had a virtual exchange with Hiro High School in Hiroshima, Japan. It was a lovely time chatting with the Japanese students, their age range is 15-17, and all could speak some English. Both sides made Google Slides to showcase our cultures and ourselves, and everyone had a great time. We shared our interests and personalities, and both sides were supportive of each other. It was such a pleasant experience, everyone were agreeable and I’d love to be friends with them if I ever go to Japan.

Some quotes of my fellow classmates from this experience are:

“It was an experience that was very pleasant, they were all so nice and listened very well. If I could go to Japan, I would like to befriend them.” - Nathalie Chang

“I learnt cool new words, such as unchi.” - Teagen Purvis

“I really enjoyed the experience and the people were nice.” - Ash Prent

“It was very fun, and I look forward to next time.” - Frances Donald

“It was nerve-wracking, but fun.” - Kaley Torr

“It was fun, I made friends.” - Becca More
