Year 11 Outdoor Education Rock Climbing Camp- Long Beach

Mia Quinn and Ruby Stretch-Treweek —

On Thursday and Friday of Week 10, Year 11 Outdoor Education students had the pleasure of experiencing the thrill of rock climbing. This overnight camp at Long Beach was a real highlight. It was also the perfect way to end our Rock Climbing unit of work.

We had four two hour tiring yet rewarding sessions throughout the camp to challenge ourselves on rock crags at the caves and on the Pinnacle. Many frustrated sighs and sore bodies were working hard to overcome each obstacle. Nevertheless, an abundance of smiles, relief and determination was never far behind. We enjoyed every aspect of the whole camp. The group was able to lift each other's spirits when things got tough. Some of the highlights included; watching the dolphins playing in the ocean, the friendly dogs who came over to cheer us up on the last day, everyone indulging in their well-earned dinners and breakfasts with joy. And of course, we all loved the climbing experience as a whole. We would all like to give our sincere thanks again to our instructors Tim and Kat, our teachers Miss Ward and Mrs Clements and our parent helper John Driver. We would also like to personally thank our peers for making our trip so memorable and well worth it.

We can't wait for our next adventures to come!
