Biology

Crystal Van Gorp, Year 13 —

On 10 May all the Year 13 biology classes took a trip to the Albatross Colony and Aquarium to learn more about animal behaviours.

Whilst at the albatross colony the classes saw albatross flying in to feed the albatross chicks, as well as seals, shags and penguins. We learnt about the behaviours the albatross and shags undertook to be able to survive and reproduce in their habitat. Next stop was the aquarium where we saw a variety of different sea life ranging from cockles to seahorses and also here learnt about how the sea lifes behaviours help them to survive and reproduce in their habitat.

Big thank you to the staff of the Albatross Colony and Aquarium and to the teachers for making this trip possible.
