Year 9 ENDrichment Programme

Ms. M. Young, Year 9 Dean —

This week, our fantastic Year 9 students have been fully immersed in the Year 9 ENDrich program. They have enjoyed an exciting and fun-filled week packed with diverse activities including a film challenge, street art tour, drama sessions, travel challenge, zine-making, gymnastics extravaganza, bead crafting, and card-making.

Here are some of the week’s highlights:

  • Ultimate Frisbee: Led by the Otago University Ultimate Frisbee Club, each class spent 30 minutes mastering the art of flying frisbees in this dynamic and engaging session.

  • Lip Sync Competition: Organized by Year 9 students Darcy Tavendale and Annabel Dobson, this event showcased high-energy performances from all whānau classes. Anticipation peaked as the judges announced the winning class, 9MN, who claimed the Lip Sync trophy and will celebrate with a pizza lunch. Special thanks to the School Council for their financial support.

  • Inspiring Futures: Guest presenters from diverse career pathways shared their experiences, with students guessing their professions and asking insightful questions. Later, students explored the wide range of career opportunities available. A big thank you to Mrs. Bazsika and Mrs. Hill for organizing this engaging and informative session.

  • Friends First: Held at Otago Boys’, this event offered a chance for our students to connect with Year 9 students from Otago Boys’. Senior students hosted a fantastic afternoon of games, creating a fun and welcoming atmosphere.

  • Pool Party: The adventure continued at Moana Pool, where our students embraced their inner water-babies, splashing, slipping, and sliding on the inflatables.

It has been an incredible week filled with energy, creativity, and connection!  We extend our thanks and gratitude to our amazing Mrs. Porter for her coordination of the ENDrich programme.
