The Otago Girls' High School rowing squad travelled to Twizel at the weekend to compete in the Aoraki 1000m sprints.

The squad was competing against clubs from Ashburton, Timaru, Oamaru, Twizel, Wanaka, Queenstown and Dunstan.

The girls rowed there hearts out and came up with the following A final placings:

- 3rd place in the 50% Novice Coxed Quad - Lucy
Merriman, Anna Divers, Emily Esplin, Claire Taylor and coxed by Grace Twaddle
- 3rd place in the U16 Single Sculls - Grace Roesler
- 3rd place Open Women's Pair - Lucy Merriman and Claire Taylor
- 2nd place U17 Single Sculls - Lucy Merriman
- 2nd place Open Women's Single Scull - Rachel James.
