OGHS First XI travelled to Balclutha to play against South Otago High School in the Bates Cup Qualifier game.

The game was played in great spirit with Otago Girls' coming away with a win by eight wickets.

Hannah Wilson clean bowled South Otago High Schools' opening batswoman beginning our innings with a wicket maiden and she finished up with 1 for 4 off 3 overs. Then Sophie Day, Isy Parry, Hannah Wilson and Billie Cahill took great catches off some very tight bowling from Caitlin Hewson and Abby Harris. Sophie Day, Hannah Wilson and Joy Dvoracek were able to easily get the required number of runs in 10 overs. Thanks to Matt Parry for his impartial umpiring skills and Kevin Wilson for his coaching this year. We are now in the Quarter final of the Bates Cup against St Hildas on Wednesday 6 March at the Kensington Oval. Come along and support the girls after school.
