In recent days we have discovered some issues with students misusing the popular TiKTok App on their phones.

TikTok is a Chinese iOS and Android social media video app for creating and sharing short lip-sync, comedy, and talent videos. The application allows users to create short music and lip-sync videos of 3 to 15 seconds and short looping videos of 3 to 60 seconds. In some cases students have covertly filmed others without their permission or used photographs of individuals (from websites) and edited these to use in their TikToks. The written or audio messages accompanying some of these TikToks have been both unkind and inappropriate. There are a number of concerns regarding features of the TikTok App, including poor security and the capacity of TikTok makers to elicit financial donations from their followers.Below are two video clips about TikTok that came out of a BBC investigation.
