Parking outside school

Ms L. Miller, Principal —

Monday was the first wet day of the school year and the scene outside the school at the end of the school day was very dangerous.

If you are collecting your daughter by car after school, please note the following:

  • there are a number of places on neighbouring streets, away from the school, where you can collect your daughter. This saves congestion immediately outside the school and provides your daughter with some exercise. Two suggested areas are at the bottom of View Street or on Rattray Street, below Speights. There is also easy parking by The Warehouse.
  • avoid the rush at 3.20pm by collecting your daughter 15 minutes later. She can shelter inside until then if it is raining.
  • students crossing Tennyson Street must cross at one of the two designated crossing areas. Please do not call out to your daughter to cross the street immediately outside the gate. If you are coming into the school at this time, please set a good example by using the same crossings.
  • we have one designated disabled carpark outside the school which is specifically for the use of one of our students who is in a wheelchair. Please do not park in this park.
  • if you are asked to move on from an illegal park, please do so.

Your co-operation with these guidelines would be appreciated as they are designed to ensure the health and safety of all members of the school community.
