Social Science News

Ms F. Speight, Social Sciences —

Congratulations go to Emily Gray from 10Ch for winning first place in the recent Human Rights festival held at school.

Her project on Protests in Russia was detailed and informative with excellent points linking to why it is a human rights issue. Congratulations also go to Tamzin Fenton-Todd who came runner up for her project on Human Rights violations in North Korea and Victoria Couper in 3rd for her project looking at the Holocaust. Congratulations also go to the following girls who gained highly commended places: Amelie Cane, Marissa Park, Kaitlyn Marsh, Stella Dynes, Janet Hollard, Morgan Passey, Anna Burnett, Rata Newman, Loji Moharram and Jenna Willis. It was great to see the effort put in to such a wide variety of topics.

Year 10 girls are now well involved in their preparation for the Noho (overnight) Marae trip taking place in two weeks time. Please remind your daughter to get her consent form and payment of $70 into the school office by next week.
