40 Hour Challenge Success

Ms R Joyce, TIC School Council —

It was a pleasure to host Emma-Grace from World Vision at our 40 Hour Challenge assembly today. Otago Girls' raised $8,754 for World Vision and communities in the Solomon Islands. A huge thank you to all students involved, as well as to the wider community for their support. It was exciting to see the hard work of our Community Service Prefect, Lily Sikora, recognised as a finalist for the Spirit of Dulcie National Award. Otago Girls' also received a Silver Award in recognition of all student involvement.

It is also very exciting that through this mahi, Otago Girls' has been invited to send a Year 12 or 13 student to the World Vision Leaders of Change Summit in January 2027. This student will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Christchurch to attend four days of global education, leadership development, and social action training—one of only 35 spots nationwide. Students should keep an eye on the notices for the application form.
