What a wonderful term we have had! Despite the hall repairs and the relocation of assembly into the gym, spirits have remained high during this very long 11 week term. Students have enjoyed a range of highlights in addition to their academic studies, including Athletics Day, the Peer Support programme, Summer Tournament Week and Borland Camp and Careers Week. Today we finish with ‘Active April’ - with the hope of physical activity continuing throughout the holidays - especially in training for our postponed school cross-county run which is now scheduled for I-Time in the first week back on Wednesday 30th April.

Special congratulations goes to our Athletics team who had exceptional performances last weekend at the South Island Secondary School Athletics. Be sure to read about those in the newsletter! School Production tickets are also on sale this week and the season of ‘Grease’ lasts 10th-14th June inclusive. Having witnessed a tiny taster of “Grease is the Word’ on Borland Camp I can say that this promises to be a fabulous show - and a trip down memory lane for those of us who were around when the musical came out in the 70s!

For the holidays, please encourage a balance of reading, leisure, mathematics practice - even if it is just Sudoko, exercise, sleep and good nutrition. Being able to disconnect from all digital devices and notifications is also a skill that we all need to develop and that students take with them for life. I wish all students and their families a good break over Easter and encourage as many students as possible to attend the Dawn ANZAC service in school uniform on 25th April. We will meet outside the Tart Tin at 5:40 am.
