School Donations

Mrs B Davidson, Tumuaki~Principal —

At Otago Girls’ High School, we provide a high-quality learning environment for our students and equip them generously with the necessary materials and resources. Unfortunately, like many other state schools, the Government funding we receive falls well short of that required to provide the education opportunities we deliver. We are therefore reliant on additional sources of funding, through parent donations and fundraising, to support our quality education programmes. In 2026 we are requesting the following donations from our school families:

School and Co-curricular Activities Donation - $260 per student

This covers equipment, facilities hire and co-curricular activities including sports, music, drama, public speaking, debating, cultural activities, work exploration, clubs and various student competitions. Our objective is to encourage wide participation in these activities by partially subsidising them, while retaining a user-pays content for specialised activities with high per person costs. This donation also funds school badges, prizegiving, PB4L prizes, celebration and Blues evenings.

PTSA Donation - $40 per student

The Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) are a group of dedicated parents who assist by fundraising and using all the money raised for the provision of resources to support the students. Individual and team/group grants can be applied for to assist with trips.

School Council Donation - $40 per student.

We ask that each student works to pay this $40 donation to support the School Council. These funds are used to support student initiatives that provide benefit to all students at the school.

Digital Innovation Donation - $30 per student

This provides extra digital technology over and above what we are funded for and enables us to offer cutting-edge innovation and digital solutions across all curriculum areas. This includes the development of subject digital hubs and our filming projects, which profile student work and projects.

All school donations are tax-deductible. To claim your deduction.

You can download the IR526 – Tax Credit Claim Form or use My IR.

Please note that individual subject course contributions and the school magazine are invoiced separately.

Thank you for your support in enabling us to provide quality education for your child. We appreciate the high level of payment of school donations at this school. If you wish to provide additional financial support to the school, please see our Alumni and Friends of the School Appeal on the Alumni page on our website.
