REVISED TIMETABLE STRUCTURE for rest of Term 2

Mrs B. Davidson, Deputy Principal —

From Tuesday June 2nd we will operate the following timetable until the end of Term 2.

We will review the timetable structure after this. The new structure focuses on calm, settled routines with less whole school movements.

Because there is no formal silent reading slot, students are expected to be reading for pleasure in their own time, as well as having multiple in-class reading opportunities. Students are encouraged to keep a log of their reading either on their phone or in their diary. We will be monitoring library issues overall and need to know that we are all able to willingly engage in and self-manage reading before we abandon the silent reading slot altogether. Quote from the English Department about reading: ‘It is the air that we breathe’. Reading is the building block for good writing and for doing well in all subjects. There will be rewards for positive reading records.

Students need to be checking notices and emails sufficiently as there are fewer admin times.

Timetable until end of Term 2 2020

The one-way system will continue to operate until further notice. Whole School Assembly will be by Zoom until further notice. On Friday we will have Whānau Time followed the next week by alternating house assemblies. Whānau Time will be student-led and be focussed on connecting with the Whānau Group and building tuakana-teina relationships. Teachers will be checking the week’s attendance in this time and following up absences.

Students should check their new timetable carefully on Edge, including rooming. School will conclude each day at 3.05pm.
