I am writing on behalf of the George Street Normal School Board of Trustees.

As you know, our long standing and esteemed, Principal Dr Rod Galloway retired from George Street Normal School in January 2020. A number of your students will be former George Street Normal School pupils who have fond memories of Dr Galloway and your staff may also have known Dr Galloway both professionally and personally.

We would like to extend an invitation, to both students and staff and families, to “A Night to Reminisce with Rod” a farewell function organised by the George Street Normal School Board of Trustees (details below).

We are also calling for written tributes, acknowledgments and comments. It is our intention to collate the tributes into a book to be presented to Rod at the farewell function. Time is of the essence for the collection of written tributes as we are working to a print deadline. Tributes can be left on the Facebook page “Farewell to Dr Galloway”, emailed to principal@georgestreet.school.nz or placed in the box in the school office. We do need tributes in by 24 February 2020 please.

Please feel free to spread the word regarding the farewell function and to invite current and former GSNS students, former staff and families to give their tributes. Please don't mention the ‘tributes’ to Dr Galloway as we hope to keep the book as a nice surprise.
