On Tuesday night we had the annual Sports Awards.

It was a lovely evening celebrating the success of our talented sportswomen at OGHS. There were a large range of awards handed out, such as five years participation, coaching and umpiring, outstanding achievements awards and Sidey Blues (New Zealand Blues). The awards given were a reward for and an indication of the hard work and dedication which so many of our girls put into their given sports and were all well deserved. Our guest speaker Kilistina Moata'ane, who is also a staff member at Otago Girls, provided an intriguing insight for us all on her life as an athlete and the challenges, decisions and set backs she has faced in order to play for the New Zealand Black Ferns and live her dream. A huge thank you to everyone who helped with the organisation and running of the evening.
