National Secondary Schools Triathlon Championships

The Otago Girls’ High School athletes had an incredible few days in Wanaka at the National Secondary Schools Triathlon Championships, competing against some of the country’s best. The event showcased their dedication, resilience, and teamwork, with some outstanding results across multiple disciplines.
Triathlon Results
Our athletes put in strong performances in the triathlon event:
U14 Girls: Julia Hodgson – 7th place
U14 Girls Teams: OGHS Juniors – 1st place (Ivy Weatherston-Harvey, Elzanne Hamman, Eva McLean)
U16 Girls: Carlotta Schwefel – 25th place
Aquathon Success
In the aquathon, our competitors continued to shine:
U14 Girls: Julia Hodgson – 3rd place
U16 Girls: Carlotta Schwefel – 8th equal
Mixed Team Relay
Our students contributed to some impressive team efforts:
U14 Mixed Team Relay: Julia was part of the team that finished 3rd
U16 Mixed Team Relay: Carlotta was part of the team that finished 10th
Regional Shield:Otago/Southland combined relay points won the Regional Shield
Open Water Swim
The final results for the open-water swim have now been confirmed:
U14 Girls: Julia Hodgson – 5th place
U16 Girls: Carlotta Schwefel – 10th place
Competing at a national level is a fantastic achievement, and we are incredibly proud of all our athletes. Well done, team!
