Congratulations to all students who took part in winter sports during Term 3. During a very difficult and disruptive year, we have still managed to have all our winter sports teams competing in competitive grades and socially throughout the season.
The Senior A Netball team competed in the Premier B division of the woman’s league and were placed 2nd in this division. We had a total of 20 teams competing throughout the season. The 9A and 10A teams competed in the Otago/Southland Junior Tournament held 13 to 14 September. Two of our players Praise Hola Y10A and Cait Shaw-Ryan Y9A were named in the Talent ID Programme. After the Senior A Otago/Southland Netball Tournament four players were named in the Talent ID Programme; Zanthe Herbert, Charlotte Underwood-Nicol, Jess Tyrrell and Abby Harris.
Congratulations to the Senior A Basketball Team who won the Otago Secondary Schools' Friday night competition and to the Senior A Football Team, Curling Team, Badminton Team who also won their competitions and the First XV Rugby team who were second in the Otago Secondary Schools' Competition.
The Sports Department would like to thank all our volunteer coaches, assistant coaches and managers for giving up their time to assist us with Sport at Otago Girls' High School.
