On Wednesday 20 March we had our annual swimming sports.
The atmosphere throughout the whole morning was absolutely amazing with so many girls putting on their togs and getting involved. Participation was incredible throughout both the competitive and non-competitive swimming, diving and tabloid events. We had some amazing times swum in the competitive races, especially in the Year 11 age group where there were some very intense and close races. The prefects took it out again in the teachers vs. staff relay to continue their winning streak from sports day. Allan house managed to pull out ahead with a considerable win, Williams gained second place, Cruikshank ranked in the third place and Benjamin came in fourth place. We also had several records broken throughout the morning.
Year 11 records: Jemma Wilson- 50m Freestyle (27.80), 100m IM (1.10.30), 50m breastroke (35.3); Madison Wills- 50m Butterfly (30.8); Charlotte Hewson- 50m Backstroke (33.3). Year 13 records: Esme Paterson- 50m Freestyle (28.9), 50m Butterfly (32.1) , 50m Backstroke (33.8), 100m Freestyle (1.09.80), 100 IM (1.15.90), Sophie Wilson- 50m Breastroke (38.3).
Overall it was a really enjoyable morning and a massive thank you goes out to all the staff involved in helping to run swimming sports and to the Polytech girls for assisting as well.
