On 1 May 2019 the Year 13 Outdoor Ed class left for a three day bike trip starting at Tekapo and finishing in Omarama.

This was a section of the Alps to Ocean. We had spent the majority of Term One planning and physically preparing for this journey. The day we left was exciting and we were all more than happy to get out of the classroom! At the start of the journey energy was high but we were soon to realise that not only was this trip going to be physically demanding but mentally as well. We ventured through varied terrains and mountains, the days were long and tough but as a group we worked together and pushed ourselves to continue. The scenery and company easily made up for the challenging moments and it was pretty cool to experience something only few people can say they've done. This trip really allowed everyone to push themselves to their limits mentally and physically and it was awesome to see not only myself but my classmates successfully complete our journey.
