Year 11 Science Conduction, Convection and Radiation Experiments
In Year 11 Science, students have been exploring the modes of heat transfer through two hands-on experiments. The first demonstrated conduction, where a metal rod was heated, and students observed as pins attached to it with wax fell off in a sequence, showing how heat was transferred through the material. The second experiment focused on radiation, using conical flasks with different covers. Students placed these flasks in sunlight to see how the varying covers affected the amount of heat absorbed, which in turn warmed the water inside.
