The year 11A Volleyball team attended the Volleyball New Zealand Satellite tournament in Christchurch last week.

This tournament is intended to develop depth and provide experience before teams travel to the national championship.

This year our year 11 side won the tournament going through unbeaten against older and bigger opposition. We had some close games but played positively and as a team in every game.

All of the squad played well but four of the team were named in the tournament team. Talei Pelasio, Ella Sell, Tessa Buschl, and Meg Schlaadt. Meg was also awarded MVP for the tournament for her consistently strong attacks and skillful play.

Overall the trip was a great experience and a really good step towards competitive play at a higher level.
