On Tuesday night, 13 November, The Confucius Institute Chinese awards night was held at Otago Girls' High School.

Primary, intermediate and high school students from all over the lower South Island attended, including some of our own top Chinese students. Muychheng Oeng and Seong-Ju Song won prizes for 2nd and 3rd places in a national calligraphy competition, and Sam Bixley and Ashleigh Allum won excellence award for their respective year levels.
