Pasifika Fono and Taloa Scholarship

Mr D Trickey, Dean of Pasifika students —

E felelei manu ae ma’au i o latou ofaga (Gagana Samoa)

Birds migrate to environments where they survive and thrive

It was fantastic to welcome over 50 people from our Pasfika communities to share in food and look at the potential pathways for our students, with catering from the Pacific Health Sciences Academy and a speaker from Pasifika Mapu o le Kaha’u – Pasifika Young People of the Future. The evening had astrong focus on the Health pathways for our students. We highlighted the support available from the Mercy Centre of learning that run a homework club on a Thursday evening, and also the work of the Otago Pacific trust. I would like to warmly thank all our parents and students for attending, and the fellowship was an enjoyable experience for all.

Taloa Scholarship:

Congratulations to Airene Pulu, who received the Ministry of Pacific Peoples Taloa Scholarship. This scholarship will support Airene's work in STEM education and is one of only 66 awarded in the country. Eirene has shown through her academics that she is a worthy recipient of this Scholarship. Well done, Airene.
