Waterpolo
Waterpolo has begun for the season and both teams are off to a fantastic start with OGHS Blues winning their first game against St Hilda’s A with a very close score of 6-5.
This is an amazing feat as in previous years we have always fought hard and lost to this team. OGHS whites also had an outstanding game, winning against Kavanagh 5 to 4. Both wins came to fruition through the hard work and skills of the girls and through the use of our new OGHS Waterpolo togs. Having togs to compete in has been a dream of our Waterpolo teams for a while now and each year we have gotten closer and closer to this dream. Through the hard work of many staff and students we have finally got new togs. All of the girls are super stoked with how they look although we do need to adjust some elements for the next order. A massive thanks goes out to Mr Pickard, Ms Budd, Ms Flanagan, Ms Hokianga and the students for all the design work and support.
Both of our Waterpolo teams hope to continue this winning streak and take out their respective grades this year. We are also looking forward to the South Island Secondary Schools competition from the 17th to the 19th of March.
