At the end of Term Two we, Ruby and Orla, had the amazing opportunity to participate in the New Zealand Model UN Youth event focused on diplomacy. Throughout the event, we interacted with ambassadors and engaged in topics aimed at creating impactful resolutions. These conversations revolved around diverse topics such as global security, sustainable development, human rights, and international cooperation. The workshops were very insightful, offering practical knowledge about diplomatic processes and negotiation details. We participated in simulations that challenged us to navigate complex geopolitical issues and collaborate effectively with peers from various backgrounds. Overall, the experience wasn’t only educational, but also incredibly inspiring. It strengthened our dedication to global citizenship and highlighted the significance of youth voices in shaping the future of international relations. We left NZ Model United Nations with a renewed sense of purpose and a deeper understanding of our collective potential to address global challenges.
