The girls competed honourably at the Lake Dunstan Regatta over the weekend. The weather forecast was for windy conditions, but they had perfect rowing conditions for 90% of the races.

We entered 13 boats over eight events and came away with six A Final placings, including two A Final wins.

A Final placings were:

• U16 Quad: Abbey Mason, Anna Divers, Islay Merriman, Emily Esplin, coxed by Lucy Merriman – 2nd Place
• U18 Single: Lucy Merriman – 2nd Place
• Intermediate Double: Abbey Mason and Emily Esplin – 1st Place
• Intermediate Single: Abbey Mason – 2nd Place
• Intermediate Single: Anna Divers – 3rd Place
• Club Single: Lucy Merriman – 1st Place

The girls are now training for the Otago Championships which is held at Twizel over the weekend of the 14 to 15 December. This will be the biggest regatta of the season so far.
