Year 12 Formal

By Jay Herrera Rojas and Rosie Falcous —

The day finally arrived after several weeks of waiting, extensive planning, and great anticipation. On Thursday, during the final week of term 2, the Year 12 Formal was held. Excited discussions over dresses, nails, shoes, and every detail were frequently heard in the weeks before the occasion. We appreciate our teachers' great patience during our never-ending formal conversations.

We were delighted to get our gorgeous Mamma Mia formal tickets at 12:30 and had plenty of opportunity to prepare for the special night. We proceeded to Glenfalloch Gardens later that evening after traveling along the Peninsula. The naturally gorgeous location was made even better with the exquisite decorations that filled the space, allowing the enjoyable Mamma Mia theme to shine through. Thank you to Jay for individually transforming the venue with the decorations before the event. The grazing tables were immensely popular. Fresh fruit, sushi, cheese, crackers, and all other foods along with our special mocktails, were all delicious.

We would like to express our gratitude to Gravity Events, numerous staff members, particularly Mr Curtis (security), Mr Herrera (filming), and Mrs Chapman (formal committee), as well as the entire class of year 12 for making the night enjoyable. The Formal committee, Kelk Photography, the PTSA, Glenfalloch Gardens staff, and the night's chauffeurs, our parents, deserve a particular thank you for creating a beautiful, successful night that will be remembered!

Our Media Lab Film club created a stunning video of the evening. Be sure to watch it!
