Celebrating Excellence: Our 2025 Mana Pounamu Young Achievers’ Award Recipients
We are proud to announce our school's recipients for the 25th annual Mana Pounamu Young Achievers’ Awards. This significant event, held in harmony with Matariki, the Māori New Year, is a special moment to honour the achievements of remarkable rakatahi Māori across Otago.
Our Tuakana Award recipient for Year 12 & 13 students is Jade Wilson (Tainui, Ngāti Korokī Kahukura). Jade is our Māori Prefect this year and has consistently demonstrates excellence in sport, cultural activities, performing arts, and academics throughout her time here at school. She has been an outstanding role model and mentor for many younger students.
The Teina Award for Year 9 - 11 students goes to Lyla Ward (Kāti Māmoe, Waitaha, Kāi Tahu). A strong leader, Lyla shines across cultural programmes (including kapa haka), academics, and on the sports field and court, embodying commitment and sportsmanship.
