The excitement amongst Year 12 students leading up to formal was unfathomable. For months leading up to the event, non-stop conversations buzzed with anticipation as everyone discussed their dresses and suits, eagerly sharing photos with each other, and there was a contagious euphoria in the air as students planned their ideas for the big night. The thought of dressing up and celebrating this significant milestone together created an electric atmosphere, as everyone looked forward to a night of fun, dancing, and unforgettable memories. The countdown to formal was filled with joyous preparations, and on the 4th of July, all the Year 12 students headed over to Glenfalloch Gardens for a night under the stars. Glenfalloch was beautifully decorated, with warm light and sparkling décor creating a welcoming ambience. Fairy lights were dangled from trees and photographers moved throughout the place. 

Everyone looked gorgeous and well put-together in their outfits, hair, and makeup. It was such a fun experience to see everyone get together and just enjoy an evening out. A professional DJ pumped music throughout the venue, which helped to bring up the mood and bring everyone together. Having the formal at the end of the term was the perfect opportunity to shake off all the stresses of Term 2 and hang out freely for a few hours. I had the most brilliant time with my friends – I felt as though I hugged and complimented more girls that night than I had in my entire life. Everyone’s energy was through the roof, and my friends and I, who had a very busy term, let off some much-needed steam with dancing and music. 

On behalf of Year 12, I would like to give a massive thank you to everyone who contributed to planning and executing the formal, and devoted their time and commitment to making this magical night possible. Special thanks to the Formal Committee and especially the very hard-working Ms Nielson – despite the excitement amongst the students, no one was more excited for Formal than she was. We also thank Ms Gilham, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes, to secure all the bookings. Thank you to Glenfalloch for being so hospitable and welcoming to us with the beautiful venue, and to Kelk Photography for being able to capture these precious moments in pictures. 

Year 12 Formal was certainly a night to remember, filled with laughter and enjoyment for everyone who attended!
