Polyfest - Wairua Pūhou
Wairua Pūhou has a long history performing at Polyfest. This year's performance was dedicated to all of the past students and tutors who have been involved with the group. This year's troupe has reformed with Otago Boys High School and engaged the services and skills of Kaharau Keogh who has had a tremendous impact on our group. Te Hautonga (regional kapa haka competition) helped prepare us for this year's Polyfest. Never in my time as a tutor has Wairua Pūhou been such a well oiled machine. The performance at Polyfest was fantastic and showed our community how much work everyone has put in. For me the performance was quite emotional with moments of brilliance, hilarity and gut wrenching devotion. I am extremely proud of everyone in this roopu. A huge mihi goes out to Te Tumu School of Indigenous Studies at Otago University, specifically Karen Paringatai along with Poia and Tangiwai Rewi for their help and assistance over the years, ngā mihi ki a koutou.
