By Andie McGrouther and Caitlin Hewson —

Last weekend the Otago Girls’ Swimming Team consisting of Aria Bannister, Caitlin Hewson, Olivia McBride, Rosa Van Turnhout and Sophie Matehaere competed at the Otago Secondary Schools' Swimming Champs held at Moana Pool. This was an exciting day full of speedy racing and many placings among the team.

Otago Girls’ had entered in two relay events and came away with 3rd place in the 4 x 50m Freestyle race, and 2nd place in the 4 x 50m Medley race, which both had very close finishes.

A huge congratulations to those who competed, and thank you to Miss Young for organising our entries and coming to watch us race. Another thank you to Andie for managing the team on the day and making sure everyone made it to their races.

Some swimmers will be attending the South Island Secondary Schools Champs, which is also being held in Dunedin in a few weeks, so good luck to the team.
