Year 9 Camp

Mrs R. Gordon, Year 9 Camp —

All Year 9 students will be out on the Orientation Camp at Tirohanga next week. All consent forms should be in by now and the girls should have had their rain jacket checked by their form teacher.

If there are any issues with gear please let their form teacher or Mrs Gordon know as soon as possible. The aim of this camp is to strengthen relationships between students in their form classes so they can move forward and enjoy a successful year together. All activities are carried out in form class groups. The leading camp staff are Ms Jo Nielson (TIC Pastoral Care), Mrs Rose Gordon (Year 9 Dean), Mrs Erin Mitchell (Assistant Dean and TIC Peer Support) and Mrs Sue Watt. They will also be accompanied by their Form Teachers. Students will not have access to their mobile devices while at camp, their phones will be collected from them as they board the bus for camp and handed back to them as they board the bus for their return. If you need to contact your daughter during this time you may ring the camp directly at 03 489 5494 or contact the school office 03 474 0496. Any girls who need to contact home during this time should talk to any staff member and we will arrange this. As we have a number of students who have significant nut allergies, can all home baking be totally nut free, and if in doubt, labelled with the ingredients. We are looking forward to our time away as this becomes one of their special memories of Year 9.
