Octacan Appeal

Kate Nelson, School Council Prefect —

Last Friday, the School Council and Amnesty group organised a food drive mufti day to encourage the donation of food to those in need. Students were asked to bring in a can of food in exchange for wearing mufti. This event went incredibly well and we managed to collect an impressive 640 cans. To make it more fun, we included a house kudos/bragging incentive to the event. At lunchtime, students were asked to bring their cans to the hall and spell out OGHS with each house being allocated a letter. After collecting all the cans, we counted them up. Benjamin had 137 cans, Cruickshank had 156 cans, and Williams and Allan tied with having the most, which was 173 cans. We then took a van down to Presbyterian Support and dropped off the cans. They were extremely appreciative of our donation.

Well done everyone and thanks to those who donated, it's awesome that we could all come together for such a good cause!
