The final event of this year’s cross country series was the Otago Secondary Schools Cross Country Championships, held at Kaikorai Valley College. Despite the muddy conditions underfoot, the course was in excellent shape, and our runners rose to the challenge with determination and spirit.

We were proud to take a team of 16 students to this event, all of whom gave strong performances and represented Otago Girls’ with pride.

A special congratulations to Eva McLean, who won the Under 14 Girls race and will now travel to Whangārei to compete in the New Zealand Secondary Schools Cross Country Championships on 14–15 June.

We also celebrate Annabelle Dobson and Julia Hodgson, who both placed 3rd in their respective age groups — a fantastic achievement!

Well done to Lailah Robson, who was the recipient of one of the event's spot prizes.
