The Edge Interns 2017

Courtney McPhee Year 13 —

Over the course of the past few weeks, Larissa Howie and myself have begun our work with The Edge Radio Station (91.8 FM), promoting The Edge within the school and helping out with the yearly ‘Octacan’ charity event.

Our first challenge was a logo challenge, which consisted of myself and Larissa making a creative logo for The Edge within our school. We used old shelly cards to form the logo. This picture was then uploaded onto the Edge Otago Facebook page, and the school with the most likes (averaged out by the number of students at each school) on their logo picture won. While we got the most likes by far from the school and friends and family, unfortunately Columba just snuck in there and won the competition.

Our other challenge was the ‘Octacan’ can-drive. With the help of all the girls within the school, we managed to get a total of 247 cans. Larissa and I delivered the cans down to the Octagon last Thursday and the Octacan committee was extremely grateful. A big thank you to all the girls and staff who donated cans! Congratulations to Cruickshank house for bringing in the most cans for the house competition, bringing in a total of 83 cans.
