Sports Day

Mr C. Richards, Assistant Principal —

On Friday 14 February, Otago Girls’ High School will be holding its annual school sports day at the Caledonian ground (Logan Park).

This is a very important event in the school year and one which students and staff look forward to with enthusiasm. Girls are expected at the ground by 8.30am for a roll call. They need to bring their own lunch with them which should include a good supply of water. The girls should also bring warm clothing in case the day becomes cold. Sunscreen and a hat are essential. We encourage girls to wear house colours and clothing appropriate for competing in events and races.

Girls will not be permitted to apply and/or remove face paint at the Caledonian. This should be done at home.

If the sports day needs to be postponed students will be advised by the school app notification/on the school Facebook page and announcements will be forwarded to the radio stations. In the event of postponement, girls should come to school prepared for lessons.

Usually the sports finish about 3.15pm. Girls can be picked up at the conclusion of the sports. If you need to pick up younger children from primary school first the girls can wait at the Caledonian until after you have collected the younger children. Students will not be permitted to leave the grounds during the day. School busses will not operate from the Caledonian ground.

Parents are very welcome to join us for the day.
