Borland Camp

Ms W Dunn, TIC Biology —

What a fabulous week that 90 Year 12 Biology and Geography students had at Borland in Fiordland. Every day we were bathed in sunshine as we went about our activities. While getting into the outdoors completing practical work and deepening our understanding is the key reason we go there are lots of other benefits.

Loads of leadership opportunities, personal challenges undertaken and plenty of laughter.

Days were spent caving, rock climbing, tramping, kayaking, and doing our field work. Some people saw kea, others saw deer or slime molds! In the evening we had a talk from DOC rangers, visited the local pool, had a bonfire and a talent show. A lot was packed in and staff and students had an amazing week. The caliber of our students was commented on by all the adults who got to work with us during the week. Thanks to everyone (staff and students) who contributed to making this experience possible.
