Introducing our Deputy Head Prefect

Emily Lokman, Deputy Head Prefect —

Emily Lokman

Kia Ora! My name is Emily and I am very excited to be the Deputy Head Girl for 2026.

Ever since I walked through the gates of OGHS in Year 9, I have been lucky to have had amazing role models to look up to. I want to try and be the same kind of inspiration for the younger students, alongside our amazing prefect team this year.

Here’s a few things about me:

I love music, I have been playing the piano since I was 7. I picked up the trumpet in Year 9 and have been involved in various music groups, including the jazz band. I am also a keen sportsperson, I enjoy competing in volleyball and badminton, and am part of the school cross country team. Finally, I have owned many kinds of interesting pets including piglets, lambs, geese, turkeys, axolotl and cockatiels, but have never owned the typical domestic pets: cats or dogs.

I am very grateful to have had many leadership roles in the past few years and am especially blessed to have been given this role this year. I hope to grow and learn a lot in the role while staying organised and supporting my peers! I am always keen for a chat so don’t hesitate to come say hi or talk to me! I look forward to meeting you all.
