Rebekah Hill, Year 12 —

On Tuesday 8 May Otago Girls' sent a team of girls to compete in the Logan Park road race.

The course was a challenging 2.5km lap around the block and there were some fantastic results. Girls that made top 10 in the Junior Girls race include Jordan Evans-Tobata (2nd), Becky De La Harpe (3rd) and Jesika Sebelin (8th). Girls that made top 10 in the Senior Girls race include Rebekah Hill (1st), and Caitlin O’Donnell (6th). All the girls that entered ran extremely well and should very pleased with their results.

On Wednesday 16 May, Otago Girls competed in the Caversham relay held at King's High School. This involved teams made up of four people with each team member completing a lap of approximately 1.8km around the block. Otago Girls' entered five teams, three junior girls teams and two senior girls teams. The senior team made up of Caitlin O’Donnell, Jenna Thorne, Taylor Thorne and Rebekah Hill won the senior girls' race with a time of 26.48 mins and the junior team made up of Jess Sebelin, Jess Tyrrell, Jordan Evans-Tobata and Beck De La Tarpe won their race with a time of 27.02 mins. Jordan Evans-Tobata got the fastest time for the junior girls with a time of 6.31 mins and Becky De La Harpe got the second fastest time for the junior girls with a time of 6.34 mins. Rebekah Hill got the fastest time for the senior girls with a time of 6.23 mins and Caitlin O’Donnell got the 3rd equal fastest time for the senior girls with a time of 6.35 mins.

Overall, it has been a successful two weeks of racing for Otago Girls High School and we are looking forward to the coming Otago/Southland Relays in Milton next week.
