The OGHS Junior Water Polo team headed off to Christchurch on Wednesday 25 November to compete in the South Island Secondary Schools' Junior Tournament. They won the bronze medal (9 to 5) against Christchurch Girls' High School. This was especially awesome for the team and their coach as they were seeded 6th. The team had many different team coaches coming up congratulating them on their playing style and skill. This could very well be the first medal that OGHS Water Polo has received. A massive thanks to Ella Steel (Ex-student) Coach, Ruth Pollock – Manager and Marilyn Merriman – Assistant Manager who travelled with the team.
