Textiles students were invited to observe the preparation for judging of the Emerging Designer awards included in the ID Fashion Show to be held on Friday and Saturday night at the Dunedin Railway Station. Amelia Zhang, Mikayla Cannan, Hannah Fleming, Lily Schaumann and Ruby Henderson met Yasmin Jade Fraser from Ultimo TAFE in Sydney. She described her collection under the label UJF as a recreation of a childhood molded by cross-cultural influence, blended with values of sustainability and androgyny to represent minorities and majorities alike.Thanks to Tracy Kennedy from Otago Polytechnic Fashion School for inviting us.
