Aerobics Teams Dominate at Regionals
Our aerobics teams had a spectacular weekend at the recent Aerobics Regionals, culminating in Otago Girls' High School being awarded the cup for the highest-scoring school across the entire competition. This outstanding achievement is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and talent of our students.
We would like to extend a huge thank you to all the coaches, including Peak Aerobics Academy and Jumpstart Aerobics, for their guidance and support in helping our athletes reach their full potential.
Below is a summary of the impressive results:
Team Successes
U19 Fitness Team: Our teams swept the category! Fire & Ice (Roree Latimer, Emma Maley, Peyton Harris, Fiona Holmes, & Holly Ingham) placed 1st, followed by Flight 7 (Holly Tyson & Ava Williams) in 2nd, and the Barden Bellas (Olivia Hurley, Jorja Osborne, Zoe Martin, Brooke Beaman, & Liesel Tolson) in 3rd.
FISAF Teams: We saw exceptional results in the FISAF categories, with Aggie Austin's team 'Fit for a King' taking 1st place in the Junior Grande category, and Lily Barker's team 'Breakout' earning 2nd in the Junior Petite category. Lucia Morey also placed 1st in the FISAF Team Junior Duo with her partner, Stasa Tucker.
Secondary Division 5 Team: The team of Sophie Whalan and Quinn Holt secured 2nd place, while Bella Robinson and Peyton Emmerson earned 3rd.
Secondary Division 4 Team: Ivy Weatherston-Harvey and her partner Billie Harvey came in 2nd.
Individual and Duo Achievements
U19 Individuals: Emma Maley took 3rd place in Division 1, Lily Barker placed 1st in Division 2 (with Roree Latimer 2nd), and Charlotte Thorburn (2nd) and Holly Ingham (3rd) medaled in Division 3.
Secondary Division 5 Individuals: Sophie Whalan came in 1st, and Quinn Holt placed 2nd.
Secondary Division 4 Individuals: Fiona Holmes earned 2nd place, and Ivy Weatherston-Harvey came in 3rd.
Other Individual Achievements: Bella Robinson secured 3rd in the Division 3 U14 Individual category, and Lucia Morey placed 2nd in the U16 Division 1 category.
